Description
Chocolate oat bars are a delicious way to satisfy your sweet tooth. They are easy to make, requiring no baking and just a few simple ingredients. The result is a chewy, chocolatey bar that is perfect for snacks, dessert, or even breakfast. These bars are made with oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and honey, giving them a wonderfully nutty flavor. They are also gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan-friendly, making them an ideal treat for anyone on a special diet.
These bars are a great snack for both adults and children alike. They are easy to customize with your favorite flavors, like nuts, dried fruit, or even a sprinkle of sea salt. Plus, they store well in the fridge for up to a week, so you can make them ahead of time for a quick snack or dessert any time you need one.
Ingredients
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, chocolate chips, vanilla, and a pinch of sea salt. Mix until everything is well combined and the mixture holds together when pressed.
2. Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Press the oat mixture evenly into the pan. If the mixture is too sticky, wet your hands with a bit of water to help press it down. Place in the refrigerator to set for at least 1 hour, or overnight.
3. Once set, remove from the refrigerator and cut into bars. Enjoy as is, or drizzle with more melted chocolate for an extra indulgent treat.
Notes
For a lower sugar version, use 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup instead of 1/2 cup. You can also substitute almond butter or sunflower seed butter for the peanut butter, if desired.
