Ingredients

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9x13 inch baking pan.

2. In a medium saucepan, melt the semi-sweet baking chocolate and butter over low heat. Remove from heat, and stir in the sugar until smooth.

3. Beat the eggs in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually stir the chocolate mixture into the eggs. Add the flour, salt and walnuts (optional). Mix well.

4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes. The brownies should be slightly firm to the touch, but still gooey in the center.

5. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

- If you want to make these brownies extra rich and decadent, try adding in some chocolate chips or chopped nuts before baking.

- For a different flavor, try using milk chocolate or dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet baking chocolate.

- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
