Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh, pitted cherries

- 1/2 cup white sugar

- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons lemon juice

- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 1/4 cup water

Instructions

1. Start by washing the cherries and removing the pits. Place the cherries and lemon juice in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently. The mixture should be thick and bubbly.

3. Add the dark chocolate chips (optional) and stir until melted. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

4. Place the jam in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

- You can substitute the cherries with any other type of berry.

- You can also use white chocolate chips instead of dark chocolate chips, if desired.

- If the jam is too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.
