Ingredients

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line cupcake pans with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, beat together the oil and sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Beat in the vanilla. Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Beat until just combined. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting. To make the frosting, beat the butter until creamy. Beat in the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the milk as needed to achieve desired consistency.
