The best part is that they are so easy and require minimal ingredients that you can make them in no time!
These Oreo truffles are made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate. The cookies and cream cheese are combined to form a dough, which is then rolled into balls and dipped in melted chocolate. The balls can then be topped with sprinkles or other decorations and left to set. The result is a creamy and delicious treat that is sure to be a hit with everyone.
Ingredients
- 1 package (14.3-ounce) Oreo cookies
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 package (12-ounce) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Sprinkles or other decorations (optional)
Instructions
1. Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and process until they are finely crushed. Alternatively, you can place the cookies in a large resealable bag and use a rolling pin to crush them.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the crushed Oreo cookies with the softened cream cheese until combined. The dough should be thick and easy to roll into balls.
3. Scoop out 1 tablespoon of the cookie dough and roll it into a ball. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all of the dough is used.
4. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Stir and heat for an additional 30 seconds until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, making sure to coat it completely. Place the truffles back on the baking sheet and top with sprinkles or other decorations, if desired.
5. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set. Once set, the truffles can be served or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
- If the cookie dough is too sticky to roll into balls, chill it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before rolling.
- For a richer flavor, replace half of the Oreo cookies with chocolate sandwich cookies.
- For a different flavor, replace the Oreo cookies with your favorite cookie.
