They are a favorite dessert for many people and can be found in almost every grocery store and bakery. This recipe is for the classic American chocolate chip cookie that is sure to please. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed any time of the year.
Ingredients
For this recipe you will need: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 large eggs, 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, and 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional).
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.
3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugars until creamy. Add the vanilla and eggs and mix well.
4. Slowly add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
