Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped hazelnuts

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, and whisk until combined.

3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add to the wet ingredients, and stir until just combined.

4. Fold in the chopped hazelnuts, and pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality cocoa powder. Dutch-processed cocoa powder will give you the richest, most flavorful brownies.
