Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup white sugar

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups M&M’s, divided

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. In a large bowl, beat together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, and beat until combined.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

4. Stir in 1 cup of the M&M’s and the chocolate chips. Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets. Press the remaining M&M’s into the top of each cookie dough ball.

5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.

Notes

These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, you can freeze them for up to 3 months.
