Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup butter, melted and cooled

- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups fresh blueberries

- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled

- 3 cups confectioners' sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
Add half of the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until combined. Add buttermilk and mix until combined. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix until combined. Fold in blueberries and chocolate chips.
Divide batter evenly between the two prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire cooling rack and cool completely.

To assemble the cake, place one of the cooled cakes on a cake board or serving plate. Spread half of the frosting over the top of the cake. Place the second cake on top of the first cake.
