Ingredients

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Peanut Butter Ganache:
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
For Garnish:
  • Crushed peanuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

To make the chocolate cake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
